In the world of the epic manga One Piece, the most heinous crime imaginable is the “Ohara Incident.” Ohara was an island of scholars, home to the Tree of Knowledge, a vast library containing the world’s history. When the tyrannical World Government discovered these scholars were studying the “forbidden history” that exposed the regime’s fraudulent origins, they did not debate them. They did not censor them. They initiated a Buster Call—a full-scale military assault that wiped the island, its people, and its library from the face of the earth.
This is not just fiction. In 1193 CE, the great Nalanda University in India, a beacon of learning that housed centuries of knowledge in philosophy, science, and religion, faced its own Buster Call. It was razed to the ground by a Turkic general, and its legendary library was said to have burned for months.
Throughout history, the playbook of the insecure tyrant has remained the same: when knowledge is seen as a threat, its seekers pay the price. What we are witnessing in the United States today, under the Trump regime, is America’s own Buster Call—a systematic war on knowledge, truth, and critical thinking itself.
Burning the Library, Purging the Scholars
The Trump administration’s assault is a multi-pronged attack on the very foundations of an informed society. The war on the free press, waged through frivolous, multi-billion dollar SLAPP suits, is an attempt to bankrupt and silence any institution capable of holding the regime accountable. The installation of political stooges at the heads of scientific and statistical agencies, like the Bureau of Labor Statistics, is an attempt to corrupt the data and destroy objective reality itself. The constant firehose of disinformation and the anointing of the leader as a “messenger of God” is a project to replace fact-based discourse with a state-sanctioned personality cult. This is the modern equivalent of burning the library of Ohara.

But the Buster Call is not just about destroying information; it is about eliminating those who seek it. The administration’s vow to “dismantle” leftist “terror networks”—a term now being used to describe anyone from a protester to a journalist—is the prelude to a political purge. The weaponization of the DOJ to arrest political rivals and the threats to prosecute citizens for “hate speech” (which the regime defines as any form of dissent) is the modern equivalent of hunting down and executing the scholars of Ohara.

The Celestial Dragons and the Mafia State
This war on knowledge is not being waged for any coherent ideology. It is being waged to protect the fragile power of a corrupt, kleptocratic elite. As has been argued before, our modern ruling class—the tech oligarchs, the billionaire financiers, and the political family dynasties—are our real-life Celestial Dragons.

The Trump regime operates like a mafia. It uses the power of the state to enrich the leader’s family and to reward its corporate cronies, who in turn use their platforms to push the state’s narratives. This corrupt symbiosis can only survive in an environment of ignorance. It requires a populace that is too misinformed, too confused, and too beaten down to recognize the sheer scale of the plunder that is taking place.
The Buster Call, in One Piece and in our reality, is ultimately an act of profound fear. The World Government did not destroy Ohara because it was strong; it destroyed Ohara because it was terrified that the people would learn the truth and that its illegitimate rule would come to an end. The Trump regime’s war on knowledge is no different. It is the desperate, panicked act of a corrupt system that knows it cannot survive the scrutiny of an educated and informed public.
